High Water Levels, Erosion and Flooding (Issue)

Inventory Topic Area: WATER RESOURCE

Subject: HIGH WATER LEVELS, EROSION AND FLOODING

Management issues:

The persisting high levels of water in Loch Lomond and the erosion and damage to land and trees are causing considerable concern. The possible effects of the barrage across the River Leven need independent study. There is a tendency to flood in other parts of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. The Working Party consider that there is a need for a coordinated policy to monitor, control and prevent flooding. The bodies concerned should work closely with the proposed Agency which would have the lead responsibility for that policy.
