Inventory Topic Area: WATER RESOURCE
Subject: LACK OF AN INTEGRATED STRATEGY
Management issues:
The byelaw controls on the waters of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area are only applied to certain lochs or parts of lochs and recreational use of Loch Earn and Loch Lomond is largely uncontrolled. The Working Party considered whether in addition to the byelaws being pursued for Loch Lomond, there may be a need to apply some controls to Loch Earn if the increasing pressures are to be dealt with effectively. There is no overall strategic approach to the management of the waters and the imbalances which result need to be addressed.
