Improved Litter Control and Toilet Provision (Issue)

Inventory Topic Area: TOURISM

Subject: IMPROVED LITTER CONTROL AND TOILET PROVISION

Management issues:

Throughout the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area there is a need for more effective control of litter, and the provision of more toilets of acceptable standards. Litter should be collected frequently at peak periods and more effective methods are needed. Similarly, it is not enough simply to provide toilets. Arrangement must be made for their maintenance and supervision. Franchising a site or paying local labour to clear public sites of litter may help.
