Inventory Topic Area: LAND USE - FARMING, FORESTRY, COUNTRY SPORTS AND ESTATES
Subject: ACCESS
Management issues:
The Working Party believe that public access should be managed to ensure that the rural communities are given an opportunity to play an active role and for farmers to benefit economically from access. An improved ranger service would be of benefit to visitors, with farmers and other land managers being directly involved in the provision and maintenance of footpaths and visitor information. There is continued demand for visitor access to farms. This can provide a financial return through management under access agreements, and assist in the provision of information on recommended walking routes, points of scenic interest, the countryside code and the range of rural activities carried out in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs area.
