These notes (report) accompany the first comprehensive map of the distribution of Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar L, in Scottish rivers. The map has been produced as part of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland's investigations into the present state of Scottish salmon stocks and shows the location of the salmon rivers, the range of adult salmon within the rivers and the extent of water closed to adult salmon by obstructions.
