Introduction
The report gives the results of an investigation into the breeding success of the Falco peregrinus in the Loch Lomond/Trossachs area of Scotland, UK, in 1980. The background to the survey is given in the earlier annual reports.
Fieldwork covering approximately 900 square miles in Dunbartonshire, Stirlingshire and south west Perthshire was shared with 3 other licensed investigators - Don and Bridget MacCaskin and Patrick Stirling-Aird. The individual territory records for 1980 are listed in Appendix I and the overall results compared with 1974-79 in Table I. Supplementary information on the ringing of young, pesticide levels and shell-thickness indices of sample Peregrine eggs is also given.
